Statement of Policy:

• The main priority is the wellbeing and safety of children and adolescents.

• Support for children and youth, especially those who may have been abused, must be tailored to their specific needs.

• Regardless of age, gender, disability, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs, every child and young person has a right to be protected from danger or abuse.

Procedure:

In order to protect children and uphold the highest standards of child protection, we will:

• Show children and adolescents consideration, dignity, and respect.

• Assess the risks and benefits to children within regular activities.

• Make sure there is clear and honest communication with children and adolescents.

• The forest school leader will seek advice from the local government, the NSPCC, the NCMA, or other pertinent support services if a child's wellbeing is a concern.

• Keep an eye out for warning signs and indicators of potential abuse.

Regularly review our safeguarding policy and best practices.

• Only when it is evident that there is no danger to a child can confidentiality be guaranteed.

• Involve parents and Children appropriately and share information about issues with the relevant agencies.

• Maintain copies of the guidelines established by the Local Safeguarding Children Board.

• Participate in child protection training and stay current on pertinent laws and child protection issues.
