  • · The forest school leader is responsible for safely storing tools. Using labelled boxes with a checklist for each tool is important. This will help prevent tools being lost and help the learners keep safe.

  • It’s important to lock the toolbox that includes knives and saws when you are not using them.

  • ·       Before the use of each tool, it is important to complete a safety tool talk. This will help the learner to understand how to use the tool but also to keep them safe during use.

  • ·       Activity risk assessment should be completed for each tool before use. Benefit-risk assessment should also have been completed.
